McKnight UMC places a high value on children learning about God's Word and how to worship God as they continue to grow. To foster this, we offer lessons to children that focus on worshiping God, learning his Word and, applying it to their lives. All of this is done in an age appropriate fashion. Worship and Small group time is offered during our worship service. During the summer months, starting June 2nd, Sunday school will take a break from our regular curriculum. Childcare will be provided during both services for children ages 5 years old and under downstairs in the Fellowship Hall or Blue Room.
McKnight Kidz - Sunday morning activities
Nursery Children (Ages 6 weeks - Preschool) and Elementary Children (K-6)
We use Cokesbury's Deep Blue Curriculum. This is a great resource to use with our kids because there are activities for every age group within one room. We have found that children enjoy this model extremely well as it includes adventure, exciting stories, science experiments, arts and crafts, animated video storytelling, and active games. Together, it creates a faith experience that helps children discover what it means to be a disciple of Jesus Christ today.
Friday Nightz Rock!
Two Friday nights per month, we offer a children's ministry program we call Friday Nightz Rock. This program is offered for children from school age K-5th grade and is a ministry we do in partnership with the Bethany House and other United Methodist Churches in the area. Please see this page for more information.
We offer monthly activities to further promote the importance of being in fellowship with other families who attend McKnight UMC. Please check the Calendar tab often to stay up to date. You can also register for events and/or learn more about what's happening in the church at large.
