"Do all the good you can, by all the means you can, in all the ways you can, in all the places you can, at all the times you can, to all the people you can, as long as ever you can."

-- John Wesley, Founder of the United Methodist Church

Who we are...

Located in the North Hills, McKnight United Methodist Church is a short drive from downtown Pittsburgh.  With a growing congregation focused on serving the community and impacting the Pittsburgh area, McKnight maintains the feel of a community church while seeking to serve and revitalize the spiritual health of families throughout the area.

The life of the congregation centers around two main activities: worship in meaningful and relevant ways on Sunday mornings, and small groups that meet throughout the week.  These two activities work together to nurture and develop disciples whose mission it is to impact the region through serving as the hands and feet of Jesus Christ.

Please take the time to explore our website and find out more about what McKnight UMC has to offer.  We hope that you find within these pages some small understanding of who we are and what we are all about, and that when you do, that you will be able to see yourself getting involved and becoming a part of the greater plan's that God has for all of us.  Welcome to McKnight UMC!

Great place to meet new, loving, caring people of all ages! The compassion this church has for everyone that walks through the doors is unparalleled. committed ministries shows true Christian spirit. Come and be welcomed!

Worship: two services each sunday

9:15 AM - Modern Service

  • Atmosphere is informal
  • There is little "traditional liturgy"
  • Led by our worship band, the songs focus on creating a connection of the Spirit of God in an upbeat way
  • Some worship songs can be heard on Christian radio stations

11:00 AM - Traditional Service

  • Warm, friendly atmosphere
  • Utilizes many of the traditional Protestant and Wesleyan forms of liturgy
  • Familiar Hyms from the United Methodist Hymnal
  • Often the Church Choir provides special music in praise of God for the congregation's reflection

The facilities at MUMC are all accessible and consist of a large, welcoming Narthex (pictured at the top of this page), a New England-style sanctuary (seating for 130-150), a Fellowship Hall (seating for up to 100) with a full kitchen, and an education wing with classroom. Pictures of the spaces can be found by clicking here.

To inquire about renting any of the facilities, contact the church office at 412-364-7132.
